New for 2010: Cloudy Collection subscriptions!

Tired of clicking that “BUY” link once every three months to order the newest edition from the Cloudy Collection? Well, that is a thing of the past with NEW Cloudy Collection subscriptions!

Subscribers will receive all four editions of 2010’s Volume II of the Cloudy Collection, as well as an exclusive t-shirt, collaboratively designed by David and Volume I artist Chris “Elio” Eliopoulos, discounts on subsequent “Alumni Projects”, and you will be able to select the edition number of the print sets you receive throughout the year. Questions & Answers

Q: Why would I buy this? I don’t even know what the prints look like!

A: By buying into the year’s editions early, you get bonuses such as the exclusive, subscribers-only t-shirt, designed by David and Volume I artist, Elio; you can choose your edition number; and you get a 10% discount on all Cloudy Collection “Alumni Projects” throughout 2010. In most cases, subscribers will also receive early-access to the “Alumni Projects” as well!

You can also think of this subscription as akin to a Community-Supported Agriculture project, or CSA. In a CSA, subscribers buy food from a local farm before it’s been planted to help the farmers pay for production costs before they know what the season will bring. In some ways it is a gamble, sure; but the payoff is a steady flow of fresh veggies all season, maybe with a few things you hadn’t tried before, but in the end you simply love.

Likewise, with a Cloudy Collection subscription, you are helping offset the risk of bringing you new artwork on a regular basis at such low prices, plus you help the cash-flow of the project, allowing us to experiment with new, more, and awesome-er ways to keep making the work you love. In return, you’ll get the previously-mentioned bonuses, and a few surprises throughout the year as well.

Also remember that the project will continue to include some of the most interesting artists in each of their fields. Just as Volume I brought you amazing artists from the worlds of comics, lettering, pattern design, and more, Volume II promises to include the greats from more genres such as poster design and character design. Even though no themes have been settled on, and no artists are officially selected yet, 2010 promises to be another great year for the Cloudy Collection.

Q: What is an “Alumni Project”?

A: We’ve had so much fun making work with all of the artists over the year that we want to make sure we get a chance to do it again. So we invented “Alumni Projects” as a way to do more collaborations with a few of the artists who have already made a print with us. The first of these is the exclusive, subscriber-only t-shirt we are making with Elio, and another project will be released early in 2010, before the first official Cloudy Collection print set is released. More “Alumni Projects” will be released throughout the year, and subscribers will be able to buy them at 10% off of the regular price.

Q: Can I give a gift subscription?

A: Of course! Please be sure the gift recipient’s address is in the “shipping address” portion of your order. We will be mailing out small certificates announcing each subscriber’s membership, including their selected edition number and information about the project. Q: What if my address changes?

A: Easy fix: just email us at subscriptions@cloudycollection.com with your old address and the new address, so we know how to update our records.
