The Scarlet Lettering
These gorgeously-lettered letterpress prints are made on 4″x6″ 2-ply white bamboo paper using vegetable-based inks on a well-loved Vandercook. Printed with all wind-power by Boxcar Press in Syracuse, NY, the edition is limited to 100 sets of prints. Get yours before they’re gone!
Purchase “The Scarlet Lettering”, with art by Marian Bantjes, Kate Bingaman-Burt, Ray Fenwick, Ray Frenden, Linzie Hunter, David Huyck, and Nate Williams. A portion of sales will go to The Nature Conservancy.
Note: These prints have two plates – one is inked red, and the other is a “blind deboss”, where a small amount of transparent white ink is added to the plate. The effect is that there is an indentation in the paper for a subtle texture or message, but generally no color. Also, this edition is printed on 2-ply paper to help the blind deboss layer to be a little more visible. This paper costs more than the paper we’ve used in the past, so the edition price is adjusted accordingly.
The set of all seven prints is just $40 $35 through New Year’s, and shipping to the US and Canada is free! (International shipping is just $10.)
There are currently 41 (or fewer) print sets available.
